Ron picked me up from the Chicago airport at 9:30 in the morning, armed with an itinerary and GPS. I never expected to be able to cover the ground that he managed to show me, but we did. Nine hospitals, the incredible Imerman Angels office, Gilda's Place, and the wonderful Wellness House later, Erika Ron and I made a huge dent in getting the word out about The Liver Symposium. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed Ron's tour of Chicago and the warmth and intrigue that he brings to the city. It is his friendship and the pride that he extends that have helped me to fall in love with "the windy city."
The Palmer House is beautiful, too, which is going to make for a very comfortable and exciting conference. I can imagine those of us who attend sitting in the hallways, gathering to talk, meeting for the first time, and in some cases reuniting with old friends. The physicians who are lecturing are top notch and there will be a lot of ground covered about every conceivable treatment available for liver tumors......from resection, chemo, targeted treatments, and even treatments still in the pipeline.
I'm really jazzed about some of the "surprise" entertainment and can't wait for the empowering and motivational Eddie Leigh to deliver. I can't even think of him without a huge smile!!! He's going to dazzle the crowd.
Three weeks to go - still time to register (www.theliversymposium.com) and even a few survivor scholarships available. If you are interested, let me know and I'll get an application to you!!!
See you soon,
Suzanne
PS....A special thanks to Ron for his guidance and time!!
