Trail Mix
Ever hear of trail mix? It's one of my favorite snacks; especially the kind with lots of chocolate!! For those of you who have never had the snack it is a combination of dried fruit, nuts, and sometimes chocolate. It was made as a quick treat to be taken along on the trail. I pick through my trail mix and really enjoy some of it and then there are some pieces that just get left in the bag.
My scans were like a bag of trail mix.....there were pieces that I really, really liked and others that I'd rather just skip over. The tumor at the head of my pancreas showed some shrinkage. Enough so, that I'm very excited and it far overshadows the rest of the news which makes the all of this report incredible!!! The largest of my lung tumors stayed the same while three of the smaller ones grew. Additional areas in my spine lit up; otherwise everything else is stable. All in all, it is a positive scan for me! So, just like with trail mix I'm going to totally celebrate the good stuff. On with the good and out with the bad!
Thanks to all you - my friends who have sent prayers and thoughts, emails and phone calls my way. I've been trying to write this for several days but have just now found the time to put my thoughts into words.
I'm sending all the good stuff in this mix of life to all of you - hoping for good scans, great procedures, easy recoveries, and lots and lots of magical moments and wonderful memories to create.
